WHAT MAKES A GOOD UX FOR WEBSITES?

Dec 3, 2021 | Design, Web Development

UX, User Experience, Customer Experience, Visitor Accessibility – whatever you call it, it’s important and impacts the way customers and clients view and interact with your website.

So what is UX? This question is being asked more often because consumers have gained more power over a business’s brand position in the market. It has encouraged companies to look at all aspects of their brand from the user’s perspective, not just within the product or service features. User experience is an umbrella term that entails visual design, usability, credibility, responsivity, and accessibility. These aspects will determine how a user will experience your brand visually, mentally, and physically interact with it through your website.

You can’t satisfy 100% of the users who visit your website; what’s important is that your website is valuable to the users within your target audience.

Our Development and Design teams are at the ready to hear your ideas and help make them a reality.

User Personas and Responsivity

UX has become increasingly more valuable as technology advances and consumer needs evolve. A business needs to understand its user personas deeply to create a good UX, help them to anticipate the user’s needs, and deliver airtight solutions. One user need that is often overlooked is the responsibility of a website. A website needs to be easily accessible on all devices, meaning the content must rearrange automatically to fit the device that the user is accessing the website (for example if viewing from a tablet versus a laptop) and respond quickly to user commands.

Visual Design and Accessibility

UX is involved in every step of creating a website, from design to development. Still, it can often be neglected in projects with tight deadlines and a revolving door of responsibilities. How a website looks, works, and feels to a user is dependent on how well the UX design is executed and tailored to include the user’s wants, needs, values, and limitations while still considering the business’ goals and objectives. The use of colors that work well together, easy-to-use navigation bars, and buttons all play a role here. It may sound like a Sisyphean task but rest assured, it’s not; It just takes some hard work, empathy, and research to find that sweet spot between the user’s needs and the business’s.

Usability and Credibility

A website’s UX should be simple, transparent, up-to-date, and easy to navigate, with the objectives and call-to-action clearly displayed. User experience plays a huge role in how consumers view your business or product, and without a good UX, your website may even deter consumers if they struggle to find the information they’re looking for easily or have trouble navigating.

Benefits and Advice

Creating a good user experience will lead to greater customer satisfaction, sales, customer retention, and lower costs for support & customer acquisition. Paying close attention to UX will show your consumers that you care – it can also improve your brand reputation and increase your website traffic. Consumers that have a good user experience on a website are more likely to become loyal customers and recommend that business to people they know.

Having a website with a good UX design is important but keep in mind that it is also subjective. Most users may find your website easy to navigate and aesthetically pleasing; however, some users may find your website unappealing and somewhat challenging to navigate. You can’t satisfy 100% of the users who visit your website; what’s important is that your website is valuable to the users within your target audience.
