LOCATION SCOUTING — IS IT NECESSARY?

Not investing in location scouting for a video shoot can lead to many complications. In scenarios involving heavily trafficked offices, hospitals, or hotels, the absence of a fallback plan can put immense pressure on the crew, forcing them to make rushed decisions. This often compromises the backdrop or, worse, creates additional post-production challenges. Without being on-site, understanding the nuances of natural light becomes impossible, which can lead to unexpected lighting issues. A lack of firsthand knowledge about the sun’s position in relation to the desired shooting area can result in unforeseen lighting challenges that are difficult, if not impossible, to rectify during the shoot, ultimately affecting the overall quality of the footage.
