TIM’S TFG TAKE

Aug 31, 2018 | Culture

I’ll preface this by saying that I’m no writer- not a natural one. But creating this blog post about what my month here with TFG meant seems important. I think it’s a good practice to look back on experiences like this when they’re nearly done and summarize what was learned and how it felt. I should probably do it more often, honestly.

My first days were in the beginning of July, and I came in with a keen interest in learning what it’s like to be a designer in an agency environment. I’ve worked as a designer for a while now already, but this would be my first time in a 9-5 surrounded by other creatives. Turns out, it’s a lot of fun. I was quickly submersed in a world of office dogs, nerf gun battles, and shotgunning beers with your boss on a Tuesday. The people here showed me the real meaning of “work hard, play hard,” and the work was just as much fun as the play. I had a constant supply of some of the most varied, stimulating, and challenging design work I’ve ever done, and it’s left me hungry for more; keeping up with a group of people who are not only fun, but also pumping out constant high quality work has a way of doing that.
