Yamaha Music USA

TFG was tasked with producing a step-by-step instructional video demonstrating how to properly assemble their new Marching Tenor Drums.

1.0 The Challenge

The Yamaha Marching Tenor Drums featured a brand new, first of it’s kind assembly calling for a rethinking in how to physically put the drums together. Yamaha chose to go a new route with a video guide to supplement the traditional paper instructions to ensure that the drums would be put together correctly and be safe for both the instruments and the user. Yamaha’s goal for this video was to decrease the amount of time spent on the phone answering customer questions revolving around the new tenor assembly.

3.0 How We Did It
TFG had Yamaha send a set of their new Marching Tenor Drums to our offices to execute the shoot on our video production stage. Here, Paul (our Video Lead) led our team unpacking and assembling the drums to see how the new set up would work. We worked closely with their Product Marketing Team in California to ensure accuracy and clarity in the explanation of the new assembly. With our video hosting platform, the client was able to review the video with time-coded notes, making the revision process faster and easier for both parties.
4.0 Client Feedback
“By having the video, we have experienced a huge percent decrease in customer inquiries and phone calls surrounding topics covered in the video. It has decreased customer service minutes significantly. This video stood as a case study to prove having assets like it, will decrease marketing personnel time on the phone with customer issues, that can easily be answered in a video.

Working with Nick, Teresina and the team at The Franchise Group has been so seamless. They actively listen and ask the right questions to truly understand the challenges in your business. With our projects, they seem to get exactly what it is we are after. Not only have they been producing high quality content that checks the box for us completely, but they are forward thinking in proposing alternatives or suggestions to future proof our projects. That’s not something you get from most other agencies, or agencies I have worked with at least. This is the mark of a team who truly cares. Plus, they are all super cool people, which makes working on projects with them fun!”
