National Park Service – 250th Anniversary Project Case Study
1.0 Project
TFG has a long-standing relationship with NPS, dating back to 2010 through the New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park and Youth Ambassador Program (YAP!). For the 250th Anniversary project, our mission was to develop a comprehensive digital experience that would allow audiences across the country to engage with history in a meaningful way. We worked closely with the NPS to define the project’s goals and branding, ensuring that the visual identity and messaging resonated with diverse audiences.
The project aimed to commemorate the founding of the United States by shedding light on untold stories in American history. To achieve this, we developed a brand identity and digital strategy aligned with NPS’s mission of inclusivity and education. A key component of this initiative was creating a website that served as a central hub for event registration and historical content. Additionally, we planned and executed a virtual event series featuring thought leaders and historical narratives to engage audiences nationwide. To further drive participation and awareness, we designed social media templates and marketing materials that ensured a cohesive and compelling promotional campaign.
TFG led the development of a cohesive brand strategy and identity, creating a logo, color palette, and iconography that reflected the project’s themes. A user-friendly one-page website was designed to ensure easy navigation and content accessibility, serving as a central hub for event registration and historical resources. Our team managed all aspects of the virtual event production, coordinating pre-recorded sessions and live-streamed discussions while ensuring seamless execution. We developed a suite of social media templates and marketing materials to enhance engagement, maintaining consistency across all promotional channels. Each of these elements worked together to amplify the reach and impact of the NPS 250th Anniversary initiative.

This project was more than just a series of events and programming—it was an opportunity to reshape how history is told and who gets to tell it. By focusing on underrepresented narratives, the NPS 250th Anniversary initiative created a space for voices often left out of traditional historical discourse. Through inclusive storytelling, the project highlighted the experiences of Black, Indigenous, and other historically marginalized communities, ensuring their perspectives were part of the national conversation. Educational outreach played a key role, providing resources and discussions that connected the American Revolution to present-day issues of civil rights and democracy—the virtual format enhanced accessibility, enabling nationwide participation through live-streamed events and digital content.
The initiative inspired ongoing conversations by sparking engagement and momentum and laid the foundation for future programming leading to the 250th anniversary.
